Short Detour to Memory Lane: Best of 2012

In just few hours, it's time to say goodbye to 2012 and welcome 2013! So before we formally welcome a brand new year, I'd like to take a short detour to memory lane and reminisce some highlights of my 2012.

1. College Graduation - one of the things that I am so grateful for. I graduated on time and with flying colors.

2. Seeing some of my favorite international celebrities IN PERSON like Lucy Hale, Mario Maurer, Leighton Meester and of course Ian Somerhalder my love!!!!! :))) I was just watching them in the television before. I never thought I'd see them in person. WOOOOWWWWWW!!!

At the Philippine Fashion Week
3. Travel and adventures - my year won't be complete without travelling (I can't take it if I won't be able to travel. I'LL DIE. hahahaha)

Besides these highlights, of course I am very grateful on how my 2012 generally turned out to be so good. I have loving and supportive family and friends. I am surrounded with awesome and beautiful people. In short, I was so blessed. To those who were part of my life in 2012, THANK YOU! Let's all embrace 2013 with happy and positive thoughts!!! :)))

Blogger's Diary 12.28.12

Dear blog,

I thought loving and giving too much is only applicable in a romantic relationship, not to mention its adverse effects. Even in friendship, it is a bad idea to love too much. This may sound vey cliché but I guess some people are right when they say "Do not give your 100%. You need to save some for yourself."

On that note, one of my New Year's Resolution is to love and allocate more time for myself. I also need to eradicate my attitude of getting too attached to someone. Sometimes there's a tendency that I compare the things that I am doing for other people and vice versa. I can't help but ask sometimes why other people cannot return the same amount of love or whatsoever. I know it shouldn't be that way but.. I just think too much.

Christmas via Skype

CHRISTMAS - it's the time of the year when I used to be giddy in opening Christmas gifts and receiving "aguinaldo" from family, relatives and friends. Now, Christmas is the time of the year when I am missing a lot of people, especially loved ones in abroad. BUT..thankfully there is SKYPE! We were so far yet so near.

With just few steps, we were able to celebrate Christmas the "Skype way".

1. Skype with Tito Hilbert, my bibo and pretty cousin Julia who are living in South Carolina

Julia showing her Gangnam dance moves
2. Skype with tita Rowen and cutiieeee Carmel who are in Chicago, Illinois

3. Skype with Tita Helen and my twin cousins Andre and Andrew who are in San Francisco California.

To those who celebrated Christmas away from their loved ones, I hope you still had a wonderful Christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS! :))))

Happy Birthday Kuya Nix!

To one of my favorite/best orgmates ever, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Kuya Nix!! You're getting older naaaaaa. Before anything else, lolokohin muna kita..and... taaaadaaaaaaahhhhhhhh hohohohoho!!!

"I'm so awesome!"

Soooo gwapo and payat ka pa diyan! Anong year ba yan? 19 kopong-kopong (tama ba spelling?) hahahaha. :))) Joke kuya!

Kidding aside, thank you soooooo much kuya nixon for always being there for me - a friend, an adviser, and most specially a big brother. You know how much I love you and kuya ico as my big bros. Just a text/tweet away, I'll be there. :) I really love spending time with you especially during our random movie days, pig out dinners and our never-ending okrayan and "intellectual" discussions (naksssss!)

Thank you for the years we spent as orgmates in UP! :) When I first saw you and I was still an applicant, I was intimidated and afraid of you. When I became an official Sandiwan, I'm glad na kinapalan ko ang mukha kong makipag-close sayo. Kung pinairal ko pagiging mahiyain, baka hindi tayo ganito ka-close at hindi kita naloloko o nabibiro ng ganito ngayon.

You always remind me as one of the "camwhores" in the org. Whenever we have org events, you are one of those who want to have many solo shots (photo shoot mo eh hahaha).

see??? :p  *I hope this .gif file is working properly*

Also, you are the living proof of "I will graduate on time no matter how long it takes" (yey ilang months nalang, masusuot mo na ang sablay mo). You are also one of those who are very confident to claim na "matalino ako eh" and "ang galing galing ko talaga". In a weird way, you don't sound annoying to me. You make me LOL everytime you utter those words. LOL again.

"ang galing galing ko talaga!"

Okay last na to. I wish you nothing but GENUINE HAPPINESS!!! Looking forward to spend more years with you kuya! :) I hope you'll be this (photo below) happy always. HAPPY BEERDAY BIRTHDAY! :) Labyuuuuuuuuuuu!!

P.S. Since it's your birthday, pagbibigyan na kita. Sige na kamukha mo na si Mario Lopez. YUN OHHHH!

Happy Birthday Bianca!

Happy happy birthday Bianca!!! May the remaining days of 2012 and the coming 2013 be more amazing for you! :)))

Now that you're in college, I hope that you know how to discern which is right and wrong and most importantly know your priorities. It's okay to party, to drink or try and explore new things. Been there, done that. I know how it is to be a college student. Just know your limitations. I trust you enough that you'll deal with it properly. :)

One more thing, it's okay to have a boyfriend. *wink* HAHAHA. As long as.. (read again what I said above). Anyway, happy happy birthday again dear cousin! May all your wishes come true! I hope that whatever you lost or missed the past years, may they be filled with love, happiness and contentment in the years to come.

TALES OF A FOODIE: Say cheesecake!

Today was supposed to be the "end of the world" according to the Mayans. But hey! I'M STILL ALIVE and KICKING here! :)))) I'm just so happy that nothing bad happened to me and my loved ones. :)

Okay moving on from that "end of the world" thingy, I had a random movie day with one of my best friends Bahm. We watched Upside Down starring Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst. Besides from my favorite part of watching Jim Sturgess (my babyyyyyyy), one of the best parts while watching the movie was eating this ohhhh sooooo yummmeeehhhhhh raspberry cheesecake!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH I LOVE any food with cheese. I'm guessing I was a mouse if ever I had a previous life. hahahaha.

I have no idea where this ohhhh sooooo yummmeeehhhhhh raspberry cheesecake was bought. All I know is it was a gift for Bahm's mom. AND WE ATE IT. Oooooppppppssssss. ;))))

A Birthday Like No Other

Whew! Another year has passed! I can't imagine I'm alreadyyyyy twenTEEN-one years old. Can you believe it? I'm still a teen. Woot woot!! (insert confetti, balloons and fireworks here) hahaha. Kidding aside, I thought this day would end just like any ordinary day again. BUT, THANKS TO MY FAMILY and FRIENDS for making a way to make me happy and feel special! Special mention to Bahm and Tabs for their sweet surprises. :)))

Thank youuuuuu sooooo much friend (Bahm) for this very cute cake!!!

Ever since I watched the movie Tangled, I always wanted to fly some sky lanterns. Thank you Tabs for making one of my wishes come true!!! Nag-effort ka talagang panghanap ako ng sky lanterns! :* (Plus, thank you for the other surprise. hihi. Kilig much!)

I love my expression here! Super happy! I hope I can be this happy everyday! :)))
Ayan ha, nag-blow na ako ng candle at nagpalipad pa ako ng sky lantern, ewan ko nalang kung di pa matupad yung wish ko. Lord, please please please grant my wish! :)))) hihihihi.

To those who remembered my birthday and greeted me - may it be on facebook, twitter, instagram, text message, phone call, etc., THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Every birthday greeting made me feel so loved and blessed. :)

Blogger's Diary 12.18.12

Dear blog,

It doesn't feel like it's my birthday tomorrow. I don't feel any excitement. Is this a sign of getting older? Or am I just feeling what has been missing in my life? As much as I want to live by this quote from One Tree Hill "Instead of focusing on what we don't have, why don't we focus on what we do have?", it is very hard to divert what I am feeling now.

I hope something good will happen tomorrow. A sweet surprise? A wish come true maybe? Haaay I really don't know. I should have planned a solo out of town trip for my birthday before so I could contemplate and clear the things that cloud my mind.

TALES OF A FOODIE: Of sweets, Asian and Italian delight

One of the things that put me at my happiest is food. I keep on saying in my blog how I love to eat and discover different food establishments around the metro. And I think, this is also one of the reasons why I am Winnie the Poor and why I am broke in my allowance sometimes. huhuhuhu. But as a defense mechanism, I spend money on food which I think is not a waste of money. At least hindi ko ginugutom sarili ko diba?

Just like what I said in my previous posts, Katipunan is one of my favorite hangout food spots.

Location: 318 Katipunan Avenue, Loyola Heights, Quezon City

I already ate several times at Flaming Wings and but the main reason why I keep coming back is because of its dessert - WICKED OREOS!!!!. It's weird that I just blogged about it now. hahaha

Location: 5/F Oracle Building Katipunan Avenue, Loyola Heights, Quezon City

It was my first time to try this Japanes resto in Katip with my classmates/friends to celebrate the last day (December 12) of class in ED253 for 2012.

We ordered:
Pork Gyoza, Roku Ramen, California Maki and Tempura

Personally, I liked the food (but I'll give minus points to the ramen because it was too salty for my taste). Also, food is good for sharing. Anyway, basta food ang usapan magkakasundo tayo. :)

Location: 2/F Regis Center 327 Katipunan Avenue, Loyola Heights, Quezon City

Food is always my first resort after a stressful day. So after my presentation in ED203 last night, I thought of eating right away the moment we were dismissed in class. The result? A well-deserved dinner for doing a good job and being commended by my professor in my report.

PeanutButterCompany offers various food from sandwiches to pastas. Just what its name says, it is famous for its peanut butter as a main ingredient in its dishes. To know more about Pb Co., just hit the blue link above. :)

December, oh how I love thee!

Every December, the UP community cannot help but feel excited because a lot of events in the university are being held such as the Pag-iilaw, the Oblation Run and the Lantern Parade.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend this year's Pag-iilaw due to conflict in schedule (wow busy? artista? hahaha)

"The Oblation Plaze is decked in lanterns and lights at the Pag-iilaw 2012, held last December 5. The Pag-iilaw is a UP tradition which marks the start of the Christmas season in the university. Photo taken by Jun Madrid (UPSIO) at the UP Diliman Oblation Plaza, Quezon City." Source: University of the Philippines' facebook page

Di man ako nakapunta sa Pag-iilaw, bumawi naman ako sa Oblation Run and Lantern Parade!!! HAHAHA. It was my first time to attend as an alumna of UP. Alumna talaga ha? Pero feeling student pa rin ako (This is one of my mantras - you have to feel young so you'll look young. Nakksssss naman!) :)))

Below are some photos of the Oblation Run and Lantern Parade. I was with my orgmates. Both events were held last December 14 at UP Diliman.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Happy birthday to my grandma who doesn't look like her age and her beauty radiates from within - the reason why we call her Mommy Lily instead of "Lola". :)

Pardon my puffed eyes, I cried before that shot was taken. LOL :))))

CLUE: If you are curious about her age, here is the equation: (Multiply my age to 20 then get its square root) + (my fave number multiplied by the number after it) = ???? -- GO FIGURE!!!! HAHAHAHA :))))

Again, happy happy birthday Mommy! Love you!
